i need help with part A, B, and C

Part A Exercise 22.21 What is the new charge density on the outside of the sphere? A hollow, conducting sphere with an outer radius of 0.253m and an inner radius of 0.196m has a uniform surface charge density of +6.34x10-6 C/m2 . A charge of-0.520C is now introduced into the cavity inside the sphere. C/ C/m2 Submit My Answers Give Up Incorrect; Try Again; 8 attempts remaining Part B Calculate the strength of the electric field just outside the sphere. N/C Subrmit My Answers Give Up Part C What is the electric flux through a spherical surface just inside the inner surface of the sphere?

Explanation / Answer

Here ,

A)

when the charge is introduced in the cavity , equal and oposite charge will induced on the inner surface ,

on the outer surface ,

chagre density = new charge on outer surface/area

chagre density = (6.34 *10^-6 * 0.253^2 * 4*pi - 0.52 *10^-6)/(0.253^2 * 4*pi)

calaculating

charge density = 5.69 *10^-6 C/m^2

B)

Now, for electric field ,

E = k*q/d^2

E = 9*10^9 * (6.34 *10^-6 * 0.253^2 * 4*pi - 0.52 *10^-6)/0.253^2

solving for E

E = 6.44 *10^5 N/C

the electric field is 6.44 *10^5 N/C
