Question
B. ) Show that the total power supplied to the circuit is equal to the total power consumed.
So, I was able to solve for part A, I just need help with part B. For part A, I got i1= -0.87A, i2= 2.6 A, i3= 1.7 A. I don't know what equation to use for part b, so it would be helpful if you could include all formulas, and step by step instruction so I can learn this material. Thanks in advance, I will rate best answer.
Example 9: Using Kirchhoff's rules. 12, and 13 in the three branches of the Calculate the currents circuit in the figure. 1 2 30 r= 4012 13 1 45 V 20 r= 80V 1Explanation / Answer
B) power supplie by the 45 V battery is P1 = V*I = 45*1.7 = 76.5 W
Similarly at 80 V is P2 = 80*2.6 = 208 W
at power dissipated at 20 ohm and 1 ohm is P3 = i2^2*R 21*2.6^2 = 141.96 W
power dissipation at 40 ohm and 1 ohm is P4 = 41*1.7^2 = 118.49 W
power diisipation at 30 ohm is P5 = 30*0.87^2 = 22.707 W
power delivered is P1+P2 = 76.5+208 = 284.5 W
power consumed is P3+P4+P5 = 141.96+118.49+22.70 = 283.15
from the above it i clear that power delivered = power consumed
