If a cell lives in a hypotonic environment, what will occur if is placed in a hypertonic one? Answer for the opposite case as well. Hypotonic solution means the solute content is very low.

Hypertonic solution means the solute content is high

Condition 1

If a cell lives in a hypotonic environment, if it is placed in a hypertonic one, then the cell will shrink.

Because by osmosis the solute from environment enters the cell

Condition 2

If the cell lives in hypertonic, if it is placed in hypotonic environment,it will bulg as the water from environment enters the cell.
