Explanation / Answer

Here ,

For 2 ohm , 4 ohm and 6 ohm in parallel ,

1/Rp = 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/6

Rp = 1.090 Ohm

Now , for Rp and 1 Ohm in series ,

Req = 1 + 1.090

Req = 2.090 Ohm

Now, using ohm's law

Ieq = 6/2.090

Ieq = 2.87 A

the equivalent current in the battery is 2.87 A

part B)

Now , voltage across 6 ohm = 6 - 1 * 2.87

voltage across 6 ohm = 3.14 V

Now, current in 6 Ohm = 3.14/6

current in 6 Ohm = 0.522 A

the current in 6 Ohm is 0.522 A
