Can you show your answer in writing, it makes it easier for me to understand the step-by-step
An object moves with constant acceleration 3.45 m/s^2 and over a time interval reaches a final velocity of 10.4 m/s. (a)If its initial velocity is 5.2 m/s, what is its displacement during the time interval? 8.26 Your response differs from the correct answer by more than 10%. Double check your calculations. m (b) What is the distance it travels during this interval? 8.26 Your response differs from the correct answer by more than 10%. Double check your calculations. m (C) If its initial velocity is -5.2 m/s, what is its displacement during the time interval? Your response differs from the correct answer by more than 10%. Double check your calculations. m (d) What is the total distance it travels during the interval in part (c)? 3.475 Your response differs from the correct answer by more than 10%. Double check your calculations. m Can you show your answer in writing, it makes it easier for me to understand the step-by-stepExplanation / Answer
given,
acceleration = 3.45 m/s^2
final velocity = 10.4 m/s
if initial velocity is 5.2 m/s then
by third equation of motion
v^2 = u^2 + 2 * a * s
10.4^2 = 5.2^2 + 2 * 3.45 * s
s = 11.7565 m
displacement = 11.7565 m
distance will be same as diaplacement
so,
distance = 11.7565 m
let time interval be t so,
v = u + at
10.4 = 5.2 + 3.45 * t
t = 1.50725 sec
if initial velocity is -5.2 then
s = ut + 0.5 * a * t^2
s = -5.2 * 1.50725 + 0.5 * 3.45 * 1.50725^2
s = -3.919 m
displacement = -3.919 m
distance is scalar so it will be 3.919 m
