Question
AC Circuits. An AC voltage generator supplies a maximum emf of 120.0 V at a frequency of 1500 Hz to a circuit.
Circuit 1: A capacitor is connected in series with the generator.
Circuit 2: An inductor is connected in series with the generator.
Circuit 3: A resistor and capacitor are connected in series with the generator.
Let C = 10 F, L = 500 mH and R = 250 .
1. Write the equation for the output of the ac generator.
2. What is the period of the output voltage signal from the generator? For each of the three circuits:
3. Draw the circuit diagram and label each component.
4. (a) Calculate Vp-p across each component (capacitor, inductor, resistor). (c ) Calculate Vrms across each component. (d) For Circuit 1, calculate the capacitive reactance. (b) For Circuit 2, calculate the inductive reactance. (c ) For Circuit 3, Calculate the impedance of the circuit. 5. Calculate the peak current in each circuit.
Explanation / Answer
It sounds from your description as if R, L and C are all in parallel with each other.
Is that *really* what you mean?
Apologies for nit-picking, but if that's the way circuit is, then the generator voltage appears across R and L and C. I doubt that's what's intended.
