a.Chloroquine is the best available drug for treating malaria.
b. Intraerythrocytic phase of plasmodium wherein the parasites undergo great increase in metabolic activities is largely affected by the use of chloroquine.
c. The parasite makes use of the host cell constituents for synthesizing its basic requirements to sustain in their respective host. Chloroquine is known to alter the function of an enzyme responsible for converting toxic heme of malarial parasite into non toxic hemazoin. This results in increased heme toxicity in the parasite cell which eventually kills them
