The experimental approach would involve placing a plant of the same species and at the same stage of growth in the two different places, that is, one at the window sill and the other on the coffee table in the middle of the room. Both the plants will be given the same care (same amount of water at the same time, similar soil etc). The height of the plants will be measured at the end of each day.
4. Independent variable- position of the plant (the variable which is changed in an experiment)
Dependent variable- height of the plant (the variable which depends on the independent variable).
5. The control will be a plant placed in normal conditions and given the same treatment as the experimental plants.
6. The data (height of the plant in this case) can be measured by using a regular scale.
7. The data can be presented in the form of a bar graph with days on the X-axis and height of the plants on the Y-axis. Two different coloured bars can be used for the plants at the two positions.
