Amino acids are the building block molecules (monomers) that a cell links together into long chains (polymers) that become proteins, the most hardworking molecules in every organism body.

Amino acids are organic compounds which consist of amine and carboxyl group as functional group. Each of the amino acid is different as it has side chain attached to it. There are 20 amino acid which joins together in different combination through peptide bonds to form proteins. The proteins are important bimolecules which play a major role in regulation, development and metabolism.

There are 20 different varieties. The side chain is the part of the amino acid is the part that is different. In glycine it is H, in alanine it is H-C-H-H, even in valine and aspartic acid it is the group that is down below which makes it unique.

Soybean and Eggs

These two are very high protein food which helps in providing the protein content in our body. The white part of the egg consists of protein.

Hydrolysis

The bond between the amino acid can be broken by the process of amide hydrolysis. The bond are broken with addition of a water molecule.

Peptide bonds – The individual peptide bonds are formed between the amino acids which helps in formation of the polypeptide. They are linear polymers where the alpha carboxyl group of one amino acid forms a bond with alpha amino group of another.
