Question
ou are given a bottle of dry NaCi, In your own words, wite a brief description (1-2 paragraphs) of uire required to make goo mL of a 0 5M NaCi solution The formula weight of NaCi is 584 the procedure Write the description as if you were teaching to your classmate how showing the necessary calculations and including the units and correct measuring devices would need to make it properly from start to finish. to make this solution in the lab. that they 2. You are given a 2 M NacLstock solution. In your own words, write a brief description (1-2 paragraphs) of the procedure required to make 10 mL each of the following NaCI concentrations: 05M 10 M and 1.5 M Write the description as if you were teaching to your classmate how to make these solutions in the lab showing the necessary calculations and including the units and correct measuring devices that they would need to make them properly from start to finish. 3. Draw neatly on graph paper or use a graphing program like Excel to create a scatter plot with KMnO concentration as the X-axis and Asso as the Y-axis Your goal is to create one graph with two scatter plots: one for the parallel dilutions and another for the serial dilutions You will not graph the absorbance of the unknown dilution Notice that some of the dilution concentrations are mM, while others are . Be sure to convert the concentrations so that all of them are mM or You will also have to arrange your serial dilutions from smallest to largest concentration before entering them into the graph (the reverse order of the way you made them).Explanation / Answer
First of all we want know that what is molarity?
Molarity = numbers of moles of solute in 1liter of solution
So that to make 0.5M solution
Calculations:-
For 1M NaCl Solution we have to add 58.4 gram of dry NaCl in 1 liter of water
Therefore
1=58.4, then
0.5=X , therefore
X= 58.4*0.5/1=29.2
To make 0.5 M solution we have to add 29.2 gram of NaCl in 1 liter of water, here we have to make 900ml
So that
For 1000ml= 29.2gm , then for
900ml=X gm
So X = 29.2*900/1000= 26.28 gm
To make 900ml of 0.5 M solution we have to add 26.28 gram of NaCl in 900ml.
We have to make 10 ml of 0.5M, 1.0M AND 1.5M SOLUTION
WE CAN USE FORMULA
C1V1=C2V2
C1=2, V1=? V2=10, C2=0.5
So V1= C2V2/C1
V1= 0.5*10/2=2.5 we have to add 2.5 ml stock solution in7.5ml of water
For 1.0 M
C1V1=C2V2
V1=1*10/2=5 we have to add 5ml of stock solution in 5 ml of water
For 1.5M
C1V1=C2V2
V1= 1.5*10/2 = 7.5 we have to add 7.5ml stock solution in 2.5 ml of water.
