Explanation / Answer

1. 1 molar solution means adding 1 mole of a solute to 1 L of water. So, to prepare 1L of 1M tris solution, 121.1 grams of Tris is needed.

2. To prepare 100ml of 1M Tris solution, 12.1 grams of Tris is needed. As to prepare 1000ml 121.1 gms is needed, hence to prepare 100ml = 121.1/10 = 12.1 grams

3. To prepare 1M, 1L solution of NaCl, 58.4 grams needed. To make 5M of 1L solution, 5x58.4 = 292.0 grams is needed.

4. To prepare 50ml of 5M solution the solute needed is 14.6 grams. As, to make 1000ml = 292.0 grams is needed. To make 100ml = 292/10 = 29.2 To make 50ml = 29.2/2 = 14.6 grams.

5. X% = (g sucrose)/(mL solution) x 100 = 10% = (g)/ (500) X100 = 10/100 = g/500 x 100 = 50 gms.

6. 50mg/ml = 50 X 1000 ug/ml = 50,000ug/ml

7.. 50mg/ml = 0.05ug/ul .

8.10 mg = 10 x 1000ug = 10,000 ug

500ml = 500/1000 L = .05L

75mM = 75/1000 M = .075 M
