Explanation / Answer

10- C

According to Endosymbiont theory, Mitochondria evolved from a bacterial proginator via symbiosis within an Eukaryotic host cell. The mitochondrion is believed to be originated from a bacterial phylum, ALPHA-PROTEOBACTERIA. The fact that mitochondrion is semiautonomous in nature with its own ATP production supports this hypothesis.

11- B

Carl Woese in 1977 proposed Three-Domain classification, which divided living organisms into three broad Domains i.e Archea, Bacteria and Eukaryote. This classsification was purely on the basis of differences in 16s rRNA genes. After sequencing 16s rRNA genes, he found that two groups of bacteria and eukaryota arose separately from a common ancestor.

12- C

Archea have many genes and several metabolic patheways that are similiar to eukaryotes. Moreover Archea and eukaryotes have closed related enzymes that take part in transcription and translation. Energy is stored in form of ATP through chemiosmosis which is similiar to eukaryotes.

14- D

Bacteriophage is a virus that infects bacteria. Bacteriophage means 'bacteria eater'.

15- D

All are postulates of koch's hypothesis except D
