What is the enzyme in this experiment? What is the substrate? Yeast, the substrate is the hydrogen peroxide and the balloon was the source of the enzyme in this experiment because the yeast was intering the substrate from the balloon.

What is the independent variable in this experiment? What is the dependent variable? The independent variable is the yeast added to the hydrogen peroxide and the dependent variable is how much oxygen gas is produced.

How does the temperature affect enzyme function? Use evidence from your data to support your answer. The colder test tube was smaller; 7 inches compared to the 7.5 inches of the room temperature balloon; therefore less oxygen was produced and also less heat was produced, although some heat was still produced.
