Explanation / Answer

Correct options......

A- They are covered by a flexible thick cuticle, which molts as they grow.

C- They are bilaterally symmetrical.

D- Muscles extend longitudionaly as they grow

Explanation-

Nematodes also called as Round worms contitute phylum nemtoda. They are present in every environment, from marine to fresh water, in soils in polar regions, in tropics etc. Body of nematodes is bilateraly symmetrical except head which is radially symmetrical.

Nematode cuticle is extremely flexible and is strongly attached to exoskelton that aids in locomotion by attachement with muscles, provide environmental protection and permits growth by molting. It is synthesized five times, first in embryo followed by end of each larval stage prior to molting.

Underneath the epidermis lies a layer of longitudional muscle cells. Projections run from innerwards of muscle cells towards nerve cords, which makes it a very unique type of arrengement in kingdom Animalia in which nerve cellls normally extend fibres into muscles otherwise opposite is true.
