Explanation / Answer

There are two types of cell devision called mitosis and meosis. In all eukaryotic cells the mitosis will takes place. While in the division of gamete cells such as sperm and ovum, the first stage will be haploid. Haploid is the term the cell which have half number of chromosomes. That means haploid cells only have one set of complete chromosomes.

It means only one sister chromatids will seperate in the first division of meosis and two sister chromatids are seprated from each other into two different cells during mitosis and second stage of meosis. This is for maintaing the chromosomal number of each species.
