Submit Incorrect; Try Again; 2 attempts remaining Part B Find the z component of the ball's position at the time 49s Express your answer using two significant figures.Explanation / Answer
(a)
= 1.4 rad/s
Circumference = (2*)
In 2.5 s distance covered, = *t
= 1.4*2.5 = 3.5 rad
2* = 360
1 = 360/(2*)
3.5 rad = 360/(2*) * 3.5 = 200.5 degree
Poisiton on the circle,
x = - 0.6 * cos(200.5 - 280)
x = - 0.56 m
(-ve sign means in the negative x direction i.e towards west)
(b)
In 4.9 s distance covered, = *t
= 4.9*1.4 = 6.86 rad
6.86 rad = 393 degree
x = 0.6 * cos( 393 - 360)
x = 0.50 m
(c)
In 7.4 s distance covered, = *t
= 7.4*1.4 = 10.36 rad
10.36 rad = 593.6 degree
x = - 0.6 * cos(593.6 - 540)
x = - 0.36 m
