Question

A student takes the following three masses and using exactly the same string, and exactly the same swing size, measures the period for each resulting pendulum. The results show that the 5g mass had the smallest period and the 75g had the largest period. However the difference between the largest and smallest periods was very small (only a few percent). The PI mistakenly concludes that mass does change the period of a pendulum. Give at least one possible mistake the student made in their procedure that led to this erroneous conclusion.
