Question

Consider the bar magnet and current loop shown below. (The loop is in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the page...) Find the direction of the induced current in the loop if the loop is moving to the left and the bar magnet is stationary. (Give direction of current by specifying if the current is into or out of the page at the top of the loop.) Carefully justify your answer. Find the direction of the induced current in the loop if the bar magnet is moving to the right and the loop is stationary. Explanation / Answer

(A)
Flux will increase in the Left direction , To counter that Current will be induced in such a direction so that it decreases the flux in left direction, i.e Current will move in Anticlock wise direction.

(B)
Same as above as in this case too Flux will increase in the Left direction.
Current will move in Anticlock wise direction.

(C)
Flux will decrease in the Left direction, as the loop is moving away To counter that Current will be induced in such a direction so that it increases the flux in left direction, i.e Current will move in Clockwise direction.

(D)
There will be no induced current !!
