3.The differentially shaped cells of the small intestine also known as enterocytes have a lot of cell protrusions which result in formation of folds through out.These cells possess tiny finger like projections called a villi that have microvilli protruding from them.The epthelial cells of the villi along with microvilli helps in the absorption of nutrients from the lumen of the intestine into the blood.
