Explanation / Answer

by induction process,the near sphere gets positive charge where as other one gets negatively charged

when we brought the negatively charged rod near by one sphere ,then all the positive charges will induce near by side to the rod

all other negative charges will settle nearer to the other sphere,on which already negative charges will induces on the near side to the first sphere.So these negative from first sphere and positive from second sphere will get canceld

So the charges remaining are positive charges on near sphere and negative charges on the other one
