Early man- early man began to interact with marine life which was the source if food for them.
The phoencians and greeks-In 2000-400 B.C they began to explore mediterranean sea and began further to discover Atlantic ocean with knowlege of tides,ocean .
The vikings- In 700-1000A.D they discovered north atlantic and form distinctive boats and do have knowledge about ocean ,tides, winds
The Polynesians-300-1500 A.D used natural phenomenan to migrate around the south pacific .
United states exploring expedition.- (1839-1843) during this expedition they travelled around 90000 miles around earths ocean discovering various islands , continents and they also found large varieties of species.
Then another marine expedition was held by british in which species around 4417 and genera around 415. Then globar challenger expedition was held in 1963 which proved theory of plate tectonics by deep sea drilling. Then new marine labs were established , due to advancement in tech. Sonar was developed , use of scuba diving was developed.
Then new submarines were developed which take deep into the sea
Then remotedly operates vehicles were developed which can have deep view of sea with sending the human .Now use of satellites, transmitters and with advancement in computer technology advancement in marine science had gone far ahead
