1) as the plank is in equilibrium, net force and net torque acting on the plank must be zero.

Apply, net torque about right end = 0


37*(3.8 - 2.2) - Fm*3.8 = 0


Fm = 37*1.6/3.8

= 15.58 N

2) Apply, net torque about left end = 0

37*2.2 - Ff*3.8 = 0

Ff = 37*2.2/3.8

= 21.42 N
