Question
What would be the direction of the induced current in the ring at position 4?
Sliding from left to right over a frictionless tabletop below is a wire ring. Between positions 2 and 4 the magnetic field points upward, perpendicular to the face of the ring. Between positions 4 and 6 the magnetic field points downward. Outside the rectangular region, the magnetic field is zero. | As viewed by an observer looking downward toward the table, what is the direction of the induced conventional current in the ring at position 2, where the ring is entering the magnetic field-the left side outside the field, and the right side in the field ? (a) clockwise (b) counter-clockwiseExplanation / Answer
In position 4 the field is increasing in downward direction as the ring moves from left to right.
hence using lenz law we can say that the field due to current will be in upward direction hence.
The current will be anticlock wise
