What do you think of this solution to illegal logging? How is it related to “sustainability”? It has already proven to work and has stopped many attacks on the rainforest, but do you believe this is a sustainable solution? How could this solution/technology be improved? Feel free to discuss your thoughts on this, but support your thoughts with appropriate citations where needed.
Explanation / Answer
Illegal logging is referred to the cutting down of trees and transporting them for the commercial purposes against the law. Some of the solutions to the illegal logging are as follows -
A. Strict regulations on forest management - strict laws should be made against the transportation of illegal timbers across the globe so prohibit it's practice of cutting down of trees by the government.
B. Organizations should volunteer - various organizations who work for the conservation of forests should volunteer for the conservation of forests and for stopping the illegal logging.
C. Reforestation - planting of more and more trees is called reforestation. People communities along with governments should come together and restore the forest for the betterment of the future generations for attaining the sustainable environment.
D. Campaigns - Regular campaigns should be organized where people would be taught about the importance of reforestation and about the negative impacts of illegal logging so that people nearby the forest could save it and could stand together against illegal logging.
Sustainability means to avoid the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological imbalance. Illegal logging leads to the imbalance in the ecology as the cutting down of trees causes the soil erosion along with the low rainfall so the animals living in forest they lose their habitat in this the ecology seems to be disturbed. So it is very important to maintain the ecological imbalance which can suntain us. This can be done with prohibition of illegal logging and with planting more and more trees.
No. these solutions are not yet to be called as a sustainable solution because according to me government must formulate and introduce much more stricter regulations against these corrupt illegal practices.
Here is some of the better solutions to this problem -
* every one of us must be grateful to the mother nature and each one of us must take a oath to save our forests for us and for the coming generations these teachings could be started from our homes and schools.
* government should introduce very strict law against the illegal logging so that people could find it difficult to do such corrupt practices.
Conclusion - It is our duty to save our mother nature because whatever we need to live our life we get from her and forest is an essential part of the ecosystem, it is the habitat of many animals, it regulates the annual rainfall along with it many flora and faunas are found here.
