Our dear earth rotates around it's own axis while revolving around Sun. Earth's revolving motion around it's axis results in the change of day and night. Hours belonging to day/night varies with the position of the earth in its orbit. Equinoxes are defined by those points in the orbit of the earth,where Sun falls over the equator of the earth. At these points the terminator line(line dividing the day time and night time) passes through the poles of the planet. At these points all locations around the globe experience same length of day and night. Irrespective of the latitude and longitude,all the places around the earth has a day length of 12 hours. These equinoxes take place twice a year: 20th March and 22-23rd September. In the northern hemisphere the vernal equinox marks the beginning of spring season,whereas the autumnal equinox marks the beginning of autumn season. On these days daylight hours are almost equal to each other all over the world. This time is almost quality to 12 hours. This time varies slightly over different areas depending on the atmospheric abortion of light and angular size of the Sun at different place.

So, answer to both the questions is” about 12 hours at all the place”
