Question

Hi,

Please answer clearly with details, as you can. I really want to understand it.

Thank you so mcuh for your help!

5.To the right is a 0.40m x 0.50 m rectangular loop in a uniform magnetic field of 0.80 T. 0.50 m a. What is the induced emf for the loop Indicate on the diagram to the right the direction of the current in the loop. b. The field is then decreased to zero at a constant rat in 2.0 seconds. Indicate on the diagram to the right the direction of the current in the loop. c. If the loop has a resistance of 0.100, what is the value for the current in the loop?

Explanation / Answer

(A) induced emf = rate of change of magnetic flux

e= d(B.A)/dt

flux is constant hence induced emf is zero.

(B) now b is changing,

e = A d(B)/dt

e = (0.40 x 0.50) (0.80 / 2 )

e = 0.08 Volt

counterclock wise

(c) I = e / R = 0.08 / 0.10 = 0.8 A
