Usually, the vertical lines signify the longitudes and the horizontal lines signify the latitudes.

So here the longitudes are distributed between 22o 00' 00'' to 22o 15' 00'' so there is no change in degree and the gap is only for 15'. So the given area is covering 15'

7. The Iongitude of point A is closed to 22o 6'

If we assume a line and divide that 15' interval into each 1' then we can find that it will come to 22o 6' .

As 22o 1' will be very close to the 22o 0' that is to the starting point of the longitude, and the other two values are latitude values.

8. The distance in miles between Mt Trouble and point A is approximately 240,768 mile.

From the map scale it is seen that 1 inch on the map =63360 miles on the ground.

So if we measure the distance between Mt Trouble and point A it is coming 3.8 inches (approx)

Now, if 1 inch = 63360 mile

then 3.8 inch= 63360*3.8 = 240768 mile
