Explanation / Answer

The air masses looses its moisture content on lee ward side and hence results in low rainfall.

Tmperature and humidity-the concept of relative humidity which suggest the amount of water content in air in a particular temperature.When relative humidity is 100 percent it cools and hence rainfall occurs.so as warm air rises in stoss side and becomes cool hence rain happens .This leads to dry state on the other side.

Adiabatic cooling occurs on the side wher the temperature cganes due to expansion. without addition of heat.
