From your other posting I see where y = 6.0cm

Therefore the incidence angle (with respect to the normal) = arctans(x/y) = arctan(5/6) = 39.8o

Now the refracted angle here is 90o

so n1*sin(39.8) = 1.0

so n1 = 1.0/sin(39.8) = 1.562

Since n = c/v we have v = c/n = 3.00x10^8m/s/1.562 = 1.92x10^8m/s
