Question

Your P4A A particle starts from rest at the origin of the x y plane with acceleration a- (-2.001+5.00ms2. a) Find the s of velocity of the particle at any time tVs x- b)Find the speed of the particle at to 2.00s.V ) Find the coordinates of the particle for any time t. x - d) Find the displacement of the particle in polar coordinates at te 3.00s. (Do not use units on the angle.) Magnitude a degrees Format: Do not include units of degrees on angles, leave a space between variables and numerical quantities as well as units and numerical values. Ex. your answer is 30t m/s record it as 30.0tm/s in the answer box

Explanation / Answer

a)

a = -2i + 5 j

Now, a = dv/dt = -2i + 5 j

So, v = -2t i + 5t j

So, Vx = -2t <------ answer

Vy = 5*t <----- answer

b)

At t = 2s,

Vx = -2*2 = -4 m/s

and , Vy = 5*2 = 10 m/s

So, speed , v = sqrt(4^2 + 10^2) = 10.77 m/s <-------- answer

c)

v = dS/dt = -2t i + 5t j

So, S = -2t^2/2 i + 5*t^2/2 j

or, S = -t^2 i + 2.5*t^2 j

So, at t = 3s, Sx = -3^2 = -9 m

and Sy = 2.5*3^2 = 22.5 m

So, Magnitude = sqrt(9^2 + 22.5^2) = 24.2 m <------- answer

direction = 180 - atan(22.5/9) = 111.8 deg <------- answer
