Question
Help With part C please!!!
(1 point) Two masses are hung over a pulley, as shown below. The mass on the left has a mass of 136 g. For all questions below, assume that friction is negligible. Also assume that the motion of the pulley is negligible (i.e. the mass of the pulley is much smaller than the masses hung on it). A) Calculate the mass on the right side of the pulley needed so that the left mass moves downward at a rate of 316 cm/s2 69.73 g (B) Calculate the mass on the right side of the pulley needed so that the left mass moves upward at a rate of 118 cmls2 173.19 g (C) Calculate the mass on the right side of the pulley needed so that the left mass moves upward at a rate of 425 cm/s. 623.78 gExplanation / Answer
if mass moves upwards
then equation for accleration is
a = (mr-mL)*g/(mL+mr)
(mr-0.136)* 9.81 = 4.25* (0.136 + mr)
9.81 mr - 1.334 = 0.578 + 4.25 mr
mr*(9.81-4.25) = 0.578 + 1.334
mr = 343 gms
