Question
Capacitor with electron. (a) Two parallel plates carry uniform charge densities -0.5 nC/m2 and +0.5 nC/m2. Find the acceleration of an electron between these plates. Note that electron mass is 9.1 x 10-31 kg. (2 points) (b) A pair of parallel plates are charged with uniform charge density of -35 pC/m2 and +35 pC/m2. The distance between the plates is 2.3 mm. If a free electron is released at rest from the negative plate, find its speed when it reaches the positive plate. (3 points) Hint: Use the relation among acceleration, speed, and distance. The formula you can find at the Lecture Slides.

Explanation / Answer
Electric field between the plates=charge density/ permitivitty
charge density was given now permitivitty=8.85X 10-12 si units.
force =Eq
acceleration=Force/mass of the electron.
b) similarly first find the acceleration then speed=SQRT(2X accX distance betweenthe plates.)
