At the subduction zone, the oceanic crust is pulled into the mantle. The high pressure and temperature under the upper mantle make the oceanic crust into fluid. This fluid adds to the mantle and results in the reduction of solidus nature. This is called partial melting. The process of this partial melting at the subduction zone in the mantle is termed as flux melting.
