Question
These are all part of one question. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you!
To take off from the ground, an airplane must reach a sufficiently high speed. The velocity required for the takeoff, the takeoff velocity, depends on several factors, including the weight of the aircraft and the wind velocity. A plane accelerates from rest at a constant rate of 5.00 m/s2 along a runway that is 1800 m long. Assume that the plane reaches the required takeoff velocity at the end of the runway. What is the time fcrx, needed to take off? Express your answer in seconds using three significant figures. This question will be shown after you complete previous question(s). What is the distance dVinrt traveled by the plane in the first second of its run? Express your answer numerically in meters using three significant figures. What is the distance traveled by the plane in the last second before taking off? Express your answer numerically in meters using three significant figures.Explanation / Answer
We know that from the equation of motion
s =1800m
a =5m/s2
u =0m/s
Then s =ut+(1/2)at2
1800 =0+(1/2)*5*t2
Then the time t =Sqrt(2*1800/5) =26.83s
The distance travelled by the plane in the first second is
s =0 +(1/2)*5*(1 )2=2.5m
