Explanation / Answer

radius= 19 cm = 0.19 m

(a) Through what distance does the tip move in one revolution

(2 x 0.19) x pi = 1.193 m

b) the tip's speed

tip speed = tangential velocity = w r =( 2 pi *1120/60) x 0.19 (radius) = 22.3 m/s

(c) the magnitude of its acceleration

centripetal acc = v^2/r = 22.3^2/0.19 = 2617 m/s^2

(d) What is the period of the motion?

period = 1/( rev/s )
1120/60 = 18.67
1/18.67 = 0.054 sec
