Question
The voltage and current graphs for a resistor that is connected to an ac power source are shown in the figure below. The current scale is shown on the righthand vertical axis. The maximum voltage through the resistor is 4 V. a) The direction of current flow through the resistor at t = 0.025 s is: the same as the direction at 0.035 s. opposite to the direction at o.035 s. (b) The current is changing directions at t =: 0.01 s 0.035 s 0.02 s 0.04 s (c) What is the value of the resistance R? Ohm d) what is the frequency of the power supply for this circuit? HzExplanation / Answer
a) From fig, direction of current flow at 0.025 s is opposite to the direction at 0.035 s.
b) Current changes its direction at 0.01 s and 0.03 s.
so ans is 0.01 s.
------------------------------------------------------------
c) maximum voltage,V = 4 V
current,I = 0.50 A
from Ohm's law :
R = V/I = 4/ 0.50 = 8 ohm
----------------------------
d) frequency = 1/ time period(T)
from fig, T = 0.04 s
f = 1/ 0.04 = 25 hz
