the concept behind putting bumpers and air bags in the car if that even due to collision if car stops suddenly in no time then the driver will collide with airbag ang keep moving till little time late even after the car stops. thos gives more time for driver to dminish the momentum that he innitialy had
and we know that
force F = change in momentum/time taken
here numerator remains same but airbags increase the value of denomenator so overall the force that the passenger feel during collision would be less.
if during a collision if car bounces back then numerator will increacse so foece felt by passanger would increase so as a engineer i dont want the car to bounce back in a collision.
