Question
I'm in electricity and magnetism physics. I am having trouble understanding this problem. Can you please explain each step. And show how to check this problem. Thank you
c) Given that the temperature coefficient of resistivity is 3.9 x 10"( , and the temperature is 100 C, what is the current when the 9.00 V battery is connected across the ends of the wire? variation of 17.62: In a certain stereo system, each speaker has a resistance of462. The system is rated at 60w in each channel. Each speaker circuit includes a fuse rated at a maximum current of 2A. Is this system adequately protected against overload? Chapter 18 Problems: Variation of 18.49: When two unknown resistors are connected in series with a battery, the battery delivers 225 W
Explanation / Answer
Here the resistance R= 4ohm,
Power = 60W
Current at this power, i = sqrt (60/4) = 3.87 A
Here the fuse protects all the current above 2A, so it is safe.
Had the e fuse been rated 4A, it wouldn't protect a power of 60W.
