initial displacement , r1 = 40*(cos(30 deg) i + sin(30 deg) j) <--------- i = unit vector along EAST , j = along NORTH

r2 = 50 j

So, r,net = r1 + r2 + r3 = 120 j

So, 40*(cos(30 deg) i + sin(30 deg) j) + 50 j + r3 = 120 j

So, r3 = ( -34.6 i + 50 j )

So, distance moved = sqrt(34.6^2 + 50^2) = 60.8 km <------ answer

and direction = atan(50/34.6) = 55.3 deg <------ answer
