Ans 1. Plants first evolved in water ecosystems. And they relied on water completely for their survival. They used water to disperse their spores, sperms amd egg cells. Amd water supported them to them through out and kept them hydrated. Now when plants took over to land, they faced major challenges including spore dispersal and pollination. This was overcomed by formation of seeds and development of aesthetic features that attracted birds and insects for pollination.

Other challenges included body support, as when they were in water, they were buoyant but now they had to face gravity on land. This was overcomed by evolution of rigid cell walls and formation of different supportive structures.
