Hi there, This is the question got as an assignment, Istruggled the whole day but un able to come up with conclusiveanswer, really apperciate if someone help me out, Ineed it by monday morning to the latest, early answer would bewonderful . A boy through a ball towards a near by building. The buildingis 25 m away from the boy measured along the ground which isflat. The ball leaves the boy's hand at the height of 1.75 m abovethe ground with an initial speed of 37.5 m/s at an angle of 35degree above the horizontal assume there is no air resistance) a)at what height above the ground the ball strike the building? b)What initial speed could be required to strike the building attwice the height found in your original answer? Assume the launchangle is the same as before. Attempt: I have tried to calculate the time and the total distance thatthe ball can cover if there was no building that means thex-componenet (X) and i can calculate the time requireredbut i got stuck with intantaneous volcity to get the strikingheight of the biuilding Hi there, This is the question got as an assignment, Istruggled the whole day but un able to come up with conclusiveanswer, really apperciate if someone help me out, Ineed it by monday morning to the latest, early answer would bewonderful . x = 25 m y0= 1.75 m v0=37.5 m/s = 35 degrees (a) x = v0xt + (1/2)axt2 =(v0cos )t + (1/2)(0)t2 = v0tcos y = y - y0= v0yt +(1/2)ayt2 = (v0sin )t +(1/2)(-g)t2 = v0t sin - (1/2)gt2 Two equations, two unknowns (t and y); solve for y. One wayof doing this is to solve the first equation for t, then substituteit into the second equation and solve for y. t = x/v0cos y - y0= v0(x/v0cos )sin -(1/2)g(x/v0cos )2 This can be simplified, or you can just plug in numbers and get ananswer. (b) For twice the height, just substitute 2y into the last equationabove (2y is twice the answer you calculated for part (a)). Then solve for v0.
