Question
Hello, I have a question on Physics 4th edition by James Walker. Iwas looked through Ch. 6 and had a question on problems 44-47.There are three weights all with different masses. Two are beingheld on the fricitonless surface by one 3.0 kg mass hanging offwith a pulley, all of them are attached to the same rope. Iunderstand that in order to find the acceleration i have to figureout each tension between the ropes. To find this i find thatT1=ma-m2, then to find tension on the rope hanging down it isT1-mg. This system i have i come up this equation T1=M1a-m2aand T2=T1-M3G. With plugging in T1 into the T2 equation i come upwith T2=m1-m3g, which in turn equals: m1a-m2a-m3g= -m1a-29 and idon' t think it comes out to the right answer. It equals Zero needhelp please help and an explanation!!I have a question on Physics 4th edition by James Walker.
