Select one:
a. 100% daughters; 0% sons
b. 50% daughters; 50% sons
c. 0% daughters; 50% sons
d. 0% daughters; 100% sons
In mitosis, during what phase does the nuclear envelope re-form around the DNA to form a new nucleus?
Select one:
a. Anaphase
b. Prophase
c. Cytokinesis
d. Telophase
Explanation / Answer
A. 100% daughters 0% son.
Red - green colo blindness is an X linked recessive disorder. Since males are hemizygous for x linked triats, this disorder is expressed in males if their X chromosomes carries a mutant allele. Females however need both of their X chromosomes carry mutant allele for red gredn color blindness to express this triat.
Males pass their X chromosome to their daughters and not to their son, so red green color blind male has 100% chance to pass this allele to daughter and 0% chance to pass the allele to son.
2. D. Telophase.
During telophase, chromosomes decondense , become thin thread like structures, spindle disappears and nuclear membrane is reformed around daughter chromosomes.
