Question

two identical stones are dropped from a tall building, oneafter the other. Assume air resistance is negligible. Whileboth stones are falling, what will happen to the vertical distancebetween them? I know the answer is it will increase, but i do not knowwhy. two identical stones are dropped from a tall building, oneafter the other. Assume air resistance is negligible. Explanation / Answer

We know that        v = u + at As stones are falling free we have        v = gt as time increases the speed of the stone increases. Therefore distance = v * t = gt2 as time increases the distance between two stones alsoincreases.
