Resistors R1 &R2 and R3 &R4 are connected in series combination R' = R1 + R2 = 4+10 = 14 R'' = R 3 + R4 = 12+10 = 22 These two combinations are connected in parallel combination So the equivalent resistance of the circuit 1 / R = 1 / R' + 1 / R'' = 1 / 14 + 1 / 22 R = 8.5 the resistances are connected in series combination current through each resistance is same SO current through R1 and R 2 is same Current through R3 and R 4 is also same Voltege acroos each resistance is same when they are connected in parallel combination.
