(a). Gun is at higher potential (b.potential diference V = 30 kV = 30000 V the kinetic energy of an electron (in eV and in J) as it reaches the screen K.E = Vq where q = charge of electron = 1.6 * 10^-19 C plug the values we get K.E = 4.8 * 10^-15 J = ( 4.8*10^-15 ) / (1.6*10^-19 ) eV = 30000 eV
