Chum salmon is abundant in Pacific ocean/. It is scientifically known as Oncorhynchus keta,anadromous fish, belongs to the Salmon family. It is commonly konwn as dog salmon or keta salmon and commerically avaoiible in the name of silverbrite salmon. They spend their life mostlt in saltawater,but return to spawn in fresh water. In fresh water, chum salmon is 8–12 vertical with space bar, not below the lateral line with dark greenish-brown. In sea water, juvenile is usually 1–2 inches long. It is widely found throughout Alaska. When they enter the sea, it become metallic bluish-green in colour. The tail found is highly forked with silver streaks, along with the fin ray. Chums are also found in north Pacific, Korea, Japan,Canada and U.S. They are not native to western Washington.
