Given Depth = 10.7 km Weight of the person = 600 N ____________________________________________________________ The relation to find the gravity while going to depth = g(depth) = g(1-d/r)-----(1) where d is the depth r is the radius of the earth. subsititute the given values in the equation g(depth) = 9.8[1-(10.7*10^3/6.3*10^6)] = 9.8(1-0.001) = 9.8(0.999) = 9.7 m/s^2 ______________________________________________________________________ weight of the person W = mg m = W/g = 600/9.8 = 61.22 kg Now the weight of the person at the given depth = W = 61.22*9.7 = 593 N
