Protruding from its front end is the north pole of a strong magnet, which repels the north pole of an identical magnet embedded in the back end of the block of mass m2 = 10.7 kg, initially at rest. u = 2 x 9.81 x5 =9.90 m/s
5.02 x 9.90 = 10.7 x v1 - 5.02v2
v1 + v2 = 9.90
v1 = 9.90- v2
put it in previuous eqtn,
49.698 = 105.93 - 10.7v2 - 5.02v2
v2 = 3.56 m/s
mgh = mv2 /2
h = 3.56^2 / 2g = 0.646 m
