Question

1. A bullet is fired vertically upward from a gun with an initial velocity of 225 m/s. How high does the bullet go? How long does it take to reach its maximum height? How long is it in flight?

2. A winch capable of pulling 250 lb must pull a 2800 lb load up a ramp of height 5.5 ft. Find the length of the shortest ramp for this job.

3. A worker uses a wheelbarrow to haul 225 lb of brick. The handles are located 4.00 ft from the axle; the center of the load is 1.50 ft from the axle. How much upward force does the worker exert to lift the handles of the wheelbarrow?

Explanation / Answer

              As per cramster there should be only one question per post

            so please post other questions seperately

            1) given that intial velocity is v=225m/s

          accleration due to gravity is g=9.8m/s^2

                   the maximum height attained by the bullet is H=v^2/2g

                                                                               =(225)^2/2*9.8

                                                                          =2582.90m=2.5829km

                                         time taken by the bullet to reach maximu height is

                                              t=v/g
                                      =22.959m/s
                   the time that the bullet is in the flight is T=2v/g

                                       =2(225)/9.8

                                        =45.918s
